Crochet Colorado Flag Earwarmer pattern

I'm from Colorado. I've lived here my whole life. Although I always talk about moving out of state, I know my heart is here. Recently the Colorado Flag has been HUGE here. I see it everywhere. It's on everything. From hats to t-shirts to just about anything. I've come up with some different items with the flag incorporated into it and this is one of them! This is perfect for those cold Colorado mornings or for a jog around the neighborhood. Looks cute with a bun or a ponytail. It's pretty easy to make too!

For the headband

Hook size J/10- 6.00 MM

With blue, I'm using Lily Sugar 'N Cream cotton yarn
Foundation HDC 54 stitches, ch 2, turn
(I personally like to start with foundation chains instead of normal chains. I think they look better and they are a better gauge of what size you need. If you don't know how to do a foundation HDC, here is a good video or you can just chain 56 and do your first stitch in the 2nd chain from the hook and do one row of HDC and follow the rest of the directions like normal.)

Row 2 & 3- 1 HDC in each stitch, ch 2, turn. At end of third row change colors to white.

Row 4-6- 1 HDC in each stitich, ch 2, turn. At end of sixth row change colors to blue.

Row 7-9- 1 HDC in each stitch, ch 2, turn. Leave a long tail to sew the ends together.

You're just going to do three rows of each.

For the C and sun
The sun and c is worked as one piece.
Hook size G/6- 4.25 MM

With yellow

Ch 3, sl st to join
I work in continuous rounds

Round 1- 6 SC
Round 2- 2 SC in each stitch, change colors to red at the end of the round (12)
Round 3- 1 SC in next 10 stitches ch 1, turn
Round 4- 2 SC in first stitch, 1 SC in next 3 stitches, 2 SC in next (4th) stitch, 1 SC in next 4 stitches, 2 SC in last stitch. Finish off and leave a long tail for both colors to sew onto the headband.

Sew the sun/c combo onto the headband. I like to place mine a little off center but place as you see fit and that's it!

If you have any questions, always feel free to ask. I'm normally pretty quick at responding to questions and comments.

If you don't want to make one, you can buy one on my etsy. :)
